Microsoft invests in Darwinbox, the unicorn of human resources software

California’s tech giant Microsoft has invested in Asian human resources software company Darwinbox, as more corporate customers seek an edge in retaining talented workers.

The human resources software company serves more than 700 enterprise clients, as companies increasingly rely on technology for hiring and other aspects of running their businesses.

By investing in Darwinbox, Microsoft hopes to keep the Indian HR software maker competitive in an increasingly crowded market, which is dominated by SAP and Oracle.

Microsoft has invested in Darwinbox, the unicorn of human resources software. According to the startup’s statement Tuesday, the US tech giant made an undisclosed equity investment as an extension of Darwinbox’s Series D round, which valued the company at more than $1 billion in early 2022. The two companies will collaborate to integrate the Darwinbox and Microsoft product ecosystems as part of the agreement.

Microsoft has invested in  AI-based customer service startup Darwinbox, which provides cloud-based enterprise solutions for the recruitment and onboarding process. According to the startup’s statement Tuesday, the US tech giant made an undisclosed equity investment as an extension of Darwinbox’s Series D round, which valued the company at more than $1 billion in early 2022. The two companies will collaborate to integrate Darwinbox’s AI solution with Microsoft product ecosystems as part of their agreement.
